I want to use my knowledge and skills to inspire and educate others to work towards rebuilding biodiversity in their neighborhoods and protecting wild places.
Biography
Anne Hoos moved to Nashville in 1973 to study at Vanderbilt (B.A. in General Biology) and put down her roots. With a growing interest in environmental issues and rivers she returned to Vanderbilt for a M.S. in Water Resources Engineering and joined the U.S. Geological Survey as a hydrologist in 1985. After 30+ years of stream monitoring and creating models that relate watershed conditions to water quality Anne retired in 2019 and refocused on her love of trees and other wildlife. She received her naturalist certification in 2021 through the Tennessee Naturalist Program and is a member of the Tennessee Native Plant Society, the Wild Ones Middle Tennessee, and the board of the Cumberland River Compact.
